Use current format and timing instructions

Separate MASS maintenance and POSS operator preparation

MASS and POSS share useful foundations without being the same test. Their roles differ, and the visual work needs particular attention. For object assembly, practise tracking how parts and distinctive features fit together when orientation changes. Build TECH methods for diagrams, graphics and rules

TECH preparation should reflect the technician route’s distinct demands. Dominion Energy lists Graphic Problem Solving, Interpreting Diagrams, Mechanical Concepts and Reasoning From Rules. The names point to different ways of handling information, not simply a larger collection of arithmetic tasks.

For graphic work, identify the requested output before selecting data. For diagrams, read the legend and trace only the connections needed. For mechanical reasoning, distinguish the principle from the presentation. For written rules, preserve conditions, alternatives and exceptions through every step of the reasoning.

Technical experience can support understanding, but a familiar-looking symbol or rule should not override the definitions supplied in an exercise.
